Olinger's Beagle Kennel was established in the Spring of 2007. I had been rabbit hunting a few times with my relatives and always wanted dogs of my own. It wasn't until the Spring of 2007 that I finally got my first pair of hounds. I had seen an advertisement in the local newspaper that said "UKC Beagles, Champion Bloodlines," so I dialed the number and told the fellow that I would be out that evening to look at the pups. My grandfather, being a very active hunter throughout his lifetime, and owning a couple of rabbit dogs during his younger days, decided to go with me to look at the pups. Once there, we met the man and I asked my grandfather if I should get one or two? He told me to get the two females that we had looked over very good. I will remind you that my mother and grandmother had told my grandfather to make sure that I did not come home with any pups that evening. So after signing the check and getting my Puppy Papers, Grandpa Jack and I headed towards home. I began training these pups at three months of age, and the pups were circling rabbits between four and five months of age. My grandpa later became diagnosed with lung cancer, and eventually passed away after a long, hard fought battle with this terrible disease. However, the memory of my grandfather going with me and even starting these two pups with me will live on in my memory forever. I will continue on to fulfill my dreams of establishing a very prominent and well respected beagle kennel. I hope you enjoyed reading an introduction on how I got into beagle hounds. My kennels are located in Fresno, Ohio in Coshocton County
